Some pretty knowledgeable folks here so this might be a good place.
I have a GE range in my kitchen. It's a slide-in style with the knobs and controls right at the front. Due to the placement, it's a good spot for collecting grease and other splatters.
Due to the frequent cleaning, the numbers around the dials have worn off quite a bit. My extended warranty is covering this so I'll get a new panel. It's stainless steel with black numbering around the dials.
I'm guessing there was a problem with surface prep or the paint used for the black markings that allowed them to wear off.
What I'd like to do is apply some sort of protective coating to the panel, perhaps some sort of clear lacquer to give it a clear, solid coat to make clean-up easier and reduce the chance of the numbering wearing off again.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks.
