Most manufacturers have a set pedal position that only deteriorates when there is air in the system (ie lower "soft" pedal). Once the slave or master cylinder is replaced and properly bled the pedal position will return to normal. Trying to adjust the pedal position without dealing with the underlying loss of system pressure will cause other problems. Too high and there will be pressure on the clutch release mechanism leading to early bearing or clutch failure, too low and not enough pressure to fully activate the clutch leading to internal gearbox issues. If there is any change in the pedal position, determine the loss of system pressure and replace the failed or failing component.
