The following ten questions are to be considered before buying wholesale hybrid flooring:
Is it easy to install hybrid flooring?
With a click and lock system, installation is made easy. Slide the planks together until you hear an audible snap – this means they’re secure. Tap gently on both sides of your new floor with a rubber mallet or tapping block and hammer to close any gaps that may exist between them for additional security.
Is hybrid flooring best for kids and pets?
For the most part, you will want to select a durable flooring surface that is easy to clean and resistant against scratches. Hybrid is perfect for playrooms because kids can be rough with their surroundings which means spills will have less impact on these types of floors as opposed to other materials such as carpets or wooden floors.
Are there additional costs to consider?
Installing new flooring is an investment in your home that will provide years of service. Make sure you are aware of any baseboards and trim along the walls that may need to be replaced during this process, as it could either be a nominal expense or something worth planning ahead for. Always check for pre-exiting floor and subfloor preparations, it’s hard to inspect till you start installing the floors.
Is it durable?
Hybrid flooring is a durable, long-lasting option that can last in your home or commercial space for up to 20 years. It’s great for rooms in the house where you or others walk most often, such as kitchens and bedrooms! Many types of hybrid floorings have an extra wear layer on top, which resists scratches from furniture legs; this makes them perfect if there are children around because they can’t break through tough surfaces like wooden floors do by walking all over it every day.
Does it have stain resistance?
Printed hybrid tiles and sheets can provide you with the protection needed to keep your floors looking new, but they are not as durable against stains or spills. Wipe off spills immediately, so it doesn’t damage this surface.
Can it sustain the sunlight?
If you live in a place where the sun always shines bright, then it’s no problem for your flooring as it won’t fade due to its exposure. However, if there are times when curtains need to be drawn or shades opened up, then this will help protect them from excess UV rays, which may cause damage over time.
Are hybrids safe for wet areas like bathrooms, laundry and toilets?
Hybrid flooring is 100% waterproof. It can be installed throughout the whole interior of your home or establishment, including wet areas such as laundries, bathrooms, and toilets.
Do I need an underlay with hybrid flooring?

The inbuilt underlay on most hybrids now means you won’t need to purchase any extra cushioning for your floor. If acoustic properties are a prime concern, then felt or rubber would be best suited as an underlay, but they’re also more expensive and more durable than foam.
What is hybrid flooring made up of?
Hybrid flooring is built using cutting-edge technology that combines the best features of two popular types, vinyl, and laminate. Not only does this solution offer stylish hardwood-like looks but also 100% waterproof protection for your home. It is made of SPC (Stone Polymer Combination) which makes boards more durable and stronger.
What is the post-installation care of hybrid flooring?
When you move heavy furniture or appliances across hybrid flooring, avoid dragging or pushing it to save it from scratches that get gouged into the surface. If an item must be moved, it is best to lift it off the surface for a smooth move and in order to protect your beautiful floors. Use a mat beneath its weight so as not to damage any part if you must drag a heavy object.

Below is an overview of the types of moldings and trim commonly used for flooring installations. You can also check out our Moldings 101 page!
T-Molding: This is used to transition between two floors of equal height or within 1/8 inch in height of each other.
Threshold: This is used to transition between two floors of unequal heights. The bottom of this molding is commonly cut (ripped) as needed depending on the height of the lower floor. Also commonly used at exterior doorways and sliding glass doors.
Reducer: This is used to transition down to the ground.
Quarter Round: Some installers call this shoe molding and although they serve the same purpose and are usually interchangeable they are slightly different dimensions-wise. This molding goes all the way around the installation and is often paired with baseboard but not always. It's used to cover up the expansion gap left around the perimeter of the installation.
Baseboard: This is used to cover the expansion gap all around the edges of the installation and is sometimes used with quarter round for a finished look.
Stair Nose: Also known as bull nosing, this piece is used to transition down to a lower level such as a landing, and at the top of a staircase.
Stair Tread: This is typically one entire piece to cover the stair step, we sell most of them in 48" lengths and some in 72" lengths. Many of our treads come with two rounded sides and rounded front, so that they can be used on open staircases.
Stair Riser: This is the vertical piece on the staircase in between each tread and they're usually 48 inches in length but we also carry some 72 inch versions. We stock them for our most popular colors, and we also sell the white stained poplar risers which are very popular and usually more affordable than the matching wood risers.
Register Vent/Dampener Covers: We have mostly flush mount register vents with a removable inner grill, but we also carry drop in vents in some colors. We carry the most common vent dimensions of 4x10 and 4x12 but also some 4x20 versions in popular colors.
Cove Molding: These pieces are glue up under stair treads and noses to give a more finished look, where the nosing/tread meets the vertical wall or riser. Most treads and noses aren’t finished underneath, so when you look up at them from below they’ll look nicer if you add a cove molding.
Spline: Bamboo spline helps transition when you change direction in your flooring planks. It allows you to place two planks (tongue sides) together and continue your flooring installation.
