How to Choose metal arms nuts of steel?

You actually CAN, but it's worse than hell. I only succeeded after 8 (!) hours of trying.

I have a few tips: try to finish the first wave as late as possible. You can actually start the second with around 3.40 left (instead of 4.00). Invaluable 20 seconds! Further, try to save the fuel stations for panic situations. You can blow up all vehicles on the bridges if you shoot a fuel station. Only use them as a last resort to save yourself.

If you get more than one flying enemy at the same time, you're screwed. Yes, you really need a lot of luck in the form of a friendly wave. And even then you can hardly afford misses in shooting. The third wave is even worse, but since that one is only a minute it is actually way easier.

If you have the stamina to finish this, you'll be really awarded imo. After this it only gets better. Especially once you get the control tether.

You can safely say, they don't call it Nuts Of Steel for nothing. It IS insanely difficult, but this 'hold your ground' level is BY FAR the most difficult. GOOD LUCK, IT CAN BE DONE!!!

I haven't had too much trouble getting this far in hard more, the biggest problem being that I tend to underestimate the random grunts who tend to dish out a lot more pain in this difficulty. but that being said, it is ridiculously hard to beat wasteland chase. I keep getting scrapped before I even get to the boss fight at the end.

Stay out of the water and avoid the explosive barrels since they both cause pointless health loss. Try to ram enemy RATs to speed up their destruction. These tips helped me out on Nuts of Steel, so I know they'll work for you.

Just wait until Hold Your Ground though.

I can't choose to ram enemies. I'm on the gun in this level. I beat the first RAT level on my first try. This is the second one and Zobby is driving.

Oops, my bad. I never made it past Hold your ground on Nuts of Steel but I have a few hints for you. Memorize where and when enemy Mils, Predators and RATs are in this level. Kill them quickly; the less time you spend on combat, the less health you lose. And don't underestimate those barrels, either.

The predators are usually what take the majority of my health, but zobby is such a terrible driver that the enemy RATS usually put the hurt on significantly as well. I'm really enjoying hard mode and I can't wait to get to the space station but I need to clean out this stinkin level first. also, do you know how to get the golden washers I keep seeing in various places around the level?

In regards to the Predators, target the 4 arms, then the main body. You can take them out without losing health once you get the hang of it. And to collect golden washers, walk into them, since they don't get magnetized towards you like regular washers do.

And yes, Zobby does indeed suck. Once on Normal, he got stuck behind a pillar, which caused me to fail.

how am I supposed to walk through a washer when I'm stuck manning the RAT cannon? Am I supposed to jump out and get it then get back in? does the level even let you do that?

I finally beat it! I just had to get really good and pinning down enemies behind explosives. Of course, that means I'm off to morbot land...
